THE MAKING

How a Lord of Suits hand-made bespoke suit is completed

A well-fitted bespoke suit is not merely accurate in measurement; it must be judged against the wearer's body, occasions, daily habits and aesthetic preference.

From understanding your needs, professional measurement, pattern adjustment and cloth selection, to baste fitting and final delivery, tailors with long experience in men's suiting carry out every key step.

01 CONSULTATION

Defining Needs & Occasions

Before a commission begins, our in-house designer learns your occasions, profession, wearing frequency, wedding date, personal taste, past experience with suits and what you would like improved.

Wedding, business, official, formal and everyday settings each call for different cloths, patterns, constructions and details.

02 MEASUREMENT

Professional Measurement & Posture Reading

Our tailors' measuring records not only the chest, waist, shoulder and length, but observes your actual build and stance — the foundation of one pattern per client.

Shoulder height and slope, chest posture, front-back balance, left-right asymmetry, chest-to-waist ratio, leg shape and daily movement all influence the final pattern.

The point of bespoke is not to fit the body to a standard size, but to fit the clothes to the real body.

03 PATTERN & PROPORTION

Pattern & Proportion Adjustment

From your measurements, physical characteristics and wearing needs, we draft an exclusive paper pattern from scratch.

Lord of Suits cuts one pattern per client, drafted by hand as an original pattern; corrections of proportion and structure keep the silhouette natural both standing and in motion.

04 FABRIC

Cloth Selection

Formal cloths are chosen by season, wearing frequency, formality, comfort and personal taste.

When designing the pattern, our designers weigh wool super number, weight, weave, drape, durability, crease resistance and colour — not merely the mill's name or super number.

Lord of Suits offers cloths from Loro Piana, Scabal, Dormeuil, Holland & Sherry, Vitale Barberis Canonico and other international menswear mills, alongside further options suited to wedding, business and everyday wear.

05 FITTING

Fitting & Adjustment

We hold to fully hand-made, one-pattern-per-client bespoke; the baste fitting is one of the most important steps in the process.

Wearing the garment, we observe the shoulder, collar, chest and waist, jacket and sleeve length, trouser waist and leg and overall balance, adjusting through standing, sitting and walking.

For clients with uneven shoulders, left-right asymmetry, a distinctive stance or marked proportion differences, the pattern is further corrected against the true state revealed at fitting.

06 DELIVERY

Delivery & Aftercare

The finished garment is delivered after final confirmation of measurements and details.

At delivery we confirm the overall fit and wearing state once more, and advise on hanging, cleaning, pressing and storage according to the cloth.

Should your body change or further adjustment be needed in wear, measurements and details can be corrected as circumstances allow.
